What is a paralegal?
In Ontario, paralegals are providers of certain specified legal services who are licensed and insured by The Law Society of Upper Canada.
The permitted scope of practice for paralegals is set out in the Law Society’s By-Law 4.
Did you know?
Before visiting a lawyer, consider saving costs by seeking the advice of a paralegal first.
Paralegals can represent you in Small Claims Court and before Administrative Tribunals such as the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Landlord and Tenant Board, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
Here’s how we can help you:
- Commissioner of Oaths (Affidavits and Oaths in Ontario)
- Demand Letters (for restitution or performance of some obligation, owing to the recipients’ alleged breach of contract)
- Small Claims Court representation
- Landlord and Tenant Board (Landlord and/or Tenant Applications)
- Administrative Tribunal representation
